Leading Ontario-based agency tbk created AODA Online's sophisticated scanning software out of necessity. As a trusted web design agency, tbk’s clients expected their websites to comply with all regulations and be accessible to everyone. But the available software at the time did not work well. So we set out to build one that would inspire more confidence among our valued clients.
We were skeptical of free online scanning tools with no proof of accuracy. So we put them to the test. tbk build a demo website designed to purposefully fail all 25 WCAG 2.0 Level AA guidelines.
We tested our demo website using the free software. Not only did it completely miss 20 of the WCAG 2.0 guidelines, it took weeks for the results to come in. We knew there had to be a better solution, so we built one.
